Basically, I shuffled the posts before outputting them: Two known plugins which keep orderby=rand from working are Post Type Order and WP_Sticky Also, if you have Post Types order installed make sure you visit the Admin page and check Wp_query Orderby Menu_order Not Working Higher up doesn't carry around their security badge and asks others to let them in.
