  • Besides the seek issue you'll probably get better playback performance, and it doesn't require any end-user involvement - they continue to use WMP as usual.
  • EDIT: it's broken, known issue, no workaround.

Although inconvenient, I must click on the fast forward button to the right of the seek bar to "activate" it so I can click anywhere to select a location in the So I was trying to make it work with MPC-HC (which I prefer to VLC) but I'll probably end up using VLC. Many of those products have bug reporting and tracking systems online using Microsoft Connect where you can even check the status of bugs reported by yourself or others.

This is not an area I would claim as my expertise, but I'm interested in a good-faith effort to more closely identify the issue. It is also impossible to configure mouse behavior (eg left or middle click = play/pause etc). This issue usually happens when the length of the files isn't present in WMP's library. Professional versus homebrew DVD should have little to no difference - any differences should be based upon bad encoding by the creator of the DVD, as opposed to local playback. I had the same troubel...
