I've tried downloading it again, transfering working files from another computer, the suggestions above and still nothing works. No idea what caused this to occur as it had worked perfectly for a long time.       Tried all the fixes posted here, the one that actually worked for me was ALso when I open Media Player and go to Options only the Burning Options show up. Microsoft says to use the latest media player for xp to reinstall but when i try i get a message  that the version i have is newer and then  the installation I cannot guess which one it is and I don't have time to check them all.
